Seascape photographs

Seascape photographs, arriving at Montrose lighthouse early I waited for the scene to change. Colours changed and also the conditions, the weather became stormy and thick with cloud which gave little light, but the effects of the weather created these beautiful dramatic seascapes.

The three qualities in these seascapes are light, intensity, direction and colour. Cloudy days such these stormy scenes create soft and defused light and have added to the seascape photograph.

The correct time of day is important in capturing a scene, whether it is seascape or landscape, during the wait a good few hours can pass by until the scene is set. The light creates different colours in a seascapes, early morning a red shade, but in these seascapes the cloud soon created a grey and blue shade which added to the sea crashing waves on the coastline.

These seascapes at Montrose in Angus are the first of many to follow, the enjoyment in capturing these shots was to say the least, amazing. It was an enjoyment waiting and guessing in advance weather conditions, selecting sea view points and timing the waves for the seascape shot.
