A walk around the main streets in the City of Dundee gave these shots of buildings, Wellgate Shopping Centre, Tayside House in Whitehall Crescent and Sugarhouse Wynd Dundee.

Dundee has many opportunities for Dundee photographers to be creative, Discovery point, Mc Manus galleries, Broughty castle museum, the frigate Unicorn and the Discovery in Dundee which was Captain Scott's polar research ship is still moored in the city.

The Howff Burial Ground is the historic graveyard handed to the people of Dundee by Mary Queen of Scots. Gravestones which date back to the sixteenth century show the signs and symbols of the old craft guilds.

Photographer in the City of Dundee

The Wellgate Shopping Centre is one of the two main shopping centres in the City Centre of Dundee, Scotland, the other being the Overgate Centre.

The council executive is based in Tayside House Dundee near the River Tay, the council intend to demolish it in favour of new premises (Dundee House) on North Lindsay Street.

I've not had a letter to ask if I would like to buy the council a new building ... I would like to wait until the economy picks up if ok?.

Anyway ... this photograph was taken as I thought it best to go to Dundee quickly, before the poor wreck of a building fell over ... looks in better condition than some of the housing in Dundee.

Sugarhouse Wynd connects Cowgait with Seagait, the street name came from an industry that has long gone in Dundee, a Sugar Refining Company which was established around 1770.

This was a chance photograph, on framing up for the shot a couple of Dundee women passing along the Sugarhouse Wynd walked into the frame ... This picture has both women almost dressed to match the doors, Dundee photographers luck.
